Moonlight Beat is a new format featuring music concerts linked to the territory which agree with the company’s ethos and products.
The master of the house, which in this case is the moon, lights up tasting events aimed at raising awareness of local products, as well as of traditions and sounds which evolve as the years go by.
A unique occasion where you can experience the beauty and uniqueness of the area lined up to become new UNESCO heritage, with the chance to enjoy sounds that are in tune with the feelings evoked by the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines by La Vigna di Sarah, and the purposely chosen food selection.
Night harvest has become an annual evening event attended by the public so that they can experience the practice on their own skin, and to explore local wine-making businesses from up close. An event which reminds of village fetes, where staff mix with the curious public who come along to taste products made by the company and other organisations which are close to it both physically and in its ideals.
However, this is not just an event held to celebrate the start of harvest. It is most of all a technique designed to obtain an even higher quality of wine from La Vigna di Sarah.
This practice is especially used in warm areas to help first of all the people who work in the vineyard, but also to naturally lower wine harvest temperatures, and has been chosen by Sarah Dei Tos based on her conviction than this type of processing could only bring benefits to her products.
The moon did not let us down, granting the bottles produced with this particular technique with a character which is difficult to replicate.
This Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG sparkly wine is unique in its type for balance and sensory complexity.
The refinement which makes it unique is obtained through quick processing of the grapes, which,
harvested at their desired ripening stage, during a full moon night between the end of August and the first half of September,
allows to preserve the characteristics which are exclusive to the territory from which they come.
The result is a Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG featuring fine, elegant bubbles, with a lunar colour, light yellow with shades of silver. The delicate scent embodies a range of sensations which remind of an evening summer walk under lime trees, an experience which is quite common in the DOCG area. The olfactory complexity then gives way to a balancing of all sensations on the palate, giving it a pleasantly clean finish.
This is a wine that can be enjoyed on its own, because you can taste its making fully. It is also excellent combined with fish-based dishes and delicate vegetables. La Vigna di Sarah recommends a plate of Tagliolini ai Grappoli di Luna on carrot cream with seared cuttlefish, or a dish typical of the Veneto region, such as Risi e Bisi (green bean risotto).
One of the ways La Vigna di Sarah promotes their ethos is through sharing it with other wine-making businesses, so that they can embrace and reproduce it in their own territories.
Collaboration between different companies is in fact at the core of the company’s activities as well as strongly desired.
Sarah believes, in fact, that having a support network made of different organisations which support sustainability, organic and biodynamic produce, paying attention to territory and product quality, is a winning strategy in order to continue to operate in the agriculture sector,
whilst respecting what is around us and that provides us with our livelihood.
This is how the La Vigna di Sarah Award for Heroic Agriculture was born, which in its first year in 2017 awarded a wine-making business which mirrors La Vigna di Sarah, based on an Italian island among the most challenging to domesticate: Pantelleria. The second edition, in 2018, highlighted a business which is complementary to wine, that of extra-virgin olive oil, exploring across its borders, as the network we base our business upon is borderless.
On these bases and through comparison, La Vigna di Sarah is growing and creating its own network, always enlightened by the moonlight.
